About this tool
This tool shrinks photos and graphics so they upload faster, load quicker on your website and fit within email limits. Drop one or several images, choose the output format, set the quality and, if you like, a maximum width or height. You see the new size of each file straight away and can download them one by one or all together.
It works with JPG, PNG, WebP and other common formats. WebP usually gives the smallest files, JPG is best for photos that need to open everywhere, and PNG keeps sharp edges and transparency without quality loss. Resizing always keeps the aspect ratio and never enlarges a picture. The images are processed by your own browser using the canvas, so they are never uploaded to any server.
How to use it
- Click the drop area or drag your images onto it. You can add several files at once.
- Choose the output format. “Same as original” keeps JPG, PNG or WebP, and converts other formats to WebP.
- Move the quality slider and, if needed, enter a maximum width or height. The files update automatically.
- Download each result with its own button, or press “Download all”.
Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. The images are decoded, resized and compressed inside your browser. There is no server involved, and nothing leaves your device.
What quality should I choose?
For photos, 70–85% usually looks the same as the original at a much smaller size. Lower values give smaller files but visible artifacts. The quality setting does not affect PNG, which is lossless.
Why did my PNG get larger?
PNG is lossless, so the file cannot shrink by lowering quality. Photos saved as PNG are often much smaller as JPG or WebP. Try a different output format or reduce the dimensions.
What happens to transparency when I convert to JPG?
JPG does not support transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white. Choose PNG or WebP if you need to keep a transparent background.
