About this tool

A QR code turns a link, a message or any short text into a square pattern that a phone camera can scan. This generator creates codes instantly as you type, with no account, no expiry and no watermark. The codes are static: the data is stored in the pattern itself, so they keep working forever.

You can change the foreground and background colors, set the size in pixels, adjust the quiet-zone margin and choose an error correction level. Higher levels let a code still scan if it is slightly damaged or partly covered, at the cost of a denser pattern. Download the result as a PNG image or as a scalable SVG for printing. The code is drawn in your browser, so what you encode is never uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Type or paste the text or web address you want to encode. A QR code appears immediately.
  2. Pick the foreground and background colors. Keep the code dark on a light background so scanners can read it.
  3. Set the size and margin, and choose the error correction level. “Medium” suits most uses.
  4. Press “Download PNG” for an image or “Download SVG” for a vector file. Test the code with your phone before printing.

Frequently asked questions

Do these QR codes expire?

No. They are static codes that contain your data directly, so they never expire and do not depend on any service. If you need to change the destination later, generate a new code.

Can I use colors other than black and white?

Yes, but contrast matters. Use a dark color on a light background; light-on-dark or low-contrast codes may fail to scan. The tool warns you when the contrast is too low.

What does error correction do?

It adds redundancy so a code can be read even if part of it is dirty or covered. Levels L, M, Q and H recover roughly 7%, 15%, 25% and 30% of the data, but longer texts need lower levels.

How much text can a QR code hold?

Up to roughly 2,900 bytes at the lowest error correction level. Shorter content gives a simpler code that is easier to scan, especially when printed small.
